What is Insulin (Fasting)?

Measures fasting insulin levels to evaluate insulin resistance, a key factor in type 2 diabetes, metabolic syndrome, and PCOS.

Why is this test important?

Fasting insulin with fasting glucose allows calculation of HOMA-IR (Homeostatic Model Assessment of Insulin Resistance). High insulin with normal glucose indicates early insulin resistance before diabetes develops.

How to Prepare

Fasting for 10-12 hours required. Water is allowed.
