What is TISSUE TRANSGLUTAMINASE (tTG) ANTIBODY IgG?

This blood test measures IgG antibodies to tissue transglutaminase. It's often used to screen for celiac disease in individuals who cannot produce IgA antibodies (IgA deficiency) or as a complementary test.

Why is this test important?

Useful for diagnosing celiac disease, especially in patients with IgA deficiency where the IgA test might give a false negative. A positive IgG result, along with symptoms, supports a celiac disease diagnosis.
