What is Anti-dsDNA Antibody?

Highly specific marker for Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE). Anti-dsDNA levels correlate with disease activity and lupus nephritis risk.

Why is this test important?

Found in 60-70% of SLE patients but rarely in other conditions. Rising titers predict lupus flares, especially nephritis. Serial monitoring guides treatment decisions.
