What is Anti-CCP (Cyclic Citrullinated Peptide)?
Highly specific marker for rheumatoid arthritis. Anti-CCP antibodies can appear years before RA symptoms develop, enabling early diagnosis and treatment.
Why is this test important?
Anti-CCP has >95% specificity for RA (much better than RF). Positive anti-CCP predicts more aggressive joint destruction. Can be positive in seronegative RA (RF-negative).
