What is Reticulocyte Count?

Measures the number of young red blood cells (reticulocytes) in the blood, indicating how quickly the bone marrow is producing new red blood cells.

Why is this test important?

Helps differentiate between types of anemia. A high reticulocyte count suggests the bone marrow is responding to blood loss or hemolysis. A low count may indicate bone marrow failure.
