What is Phospholipid antibody IgM?

This test identifies IgM antibodies that mistakenly target phospholipids, which are fats crucial for cell membranes and blood clotting. Detecting these antibodies helps assess if your immune system is reacting abnormally.

Why is this test important?

Elevated levels of phospholipid IgM antibodies are associated with Antiphospholipid Syndrome (APS), an autoimmune disorder that can lead to an increased risk of blood clots and recurrent miscarriages. It assists in diagnosing and monitoring this condition.
