TISSUE TRANSGLUTAMINASE (tTG) ANTIBODY IgA
This blood test checks for IgA antibodies against tissue transglutaminase, an enzyme found in the gut. It is primarily used to screen for celiac disease, an autoimmune condition triggered by gluten.
TISSUE TRANSGLUTAMINASE (tTG) ANTIBODY IgG
This blood test measures IgG antibodies to tissue transglutaminase. It's often used to screen for celiac disease in individuals who cannot produce IgA antibodies (IgA deficiency) or as a complementary test.
TORCH IgG
The TORCH IgG test screens for past exposure to a group of infections (Toxoplasmosis, Other agents like Syphilis/Varicella, Rubella, Cytomegalovirus, and Herpes simplex virus). It detects IgG antibodies, indicating previous infection and immunity.
TORCH IgM
The TORCH IgM test screens for recent infections with a group of pathogens that can cause serious problems if contracted during pregnancy. It specifically looks for IgM antibodies, which indicate a new or recent infection.
Total IgE
Measures the total amount of IgE antibodies in the blood. Elevated levels suggest an allergic condition, parasitic infection, or certain immune disorders.
TOTAL IRON BINDING CAPACITY (TIBC)
The Total Iron Binding Capacity (TIBC) test measures the blood's capacity to bind iron with transferrin, a protein that transports iron. It helps assess how well your body can transport iron in the bloodstream.
TOTAL PROSTATE SPECIFIC ANTIGEN (TOTAL PSA)
The Total Prostate Specific Antigen (Total PSA) test measures the total amount of PSA, a protein produced by the prostate gland, in your blood. It's a common screening tool for prostate health.
Toxocara Antibody (IgG), Serum
The Toxocara Antibody (IgG) test detects antibodies produced by your immune system in response to an infection with Toxocara roundworms. These parasites are commonly found in the intestines of dogs and cats, and humans can become infected by accidentally ingesting their eggs.
Toxoplasma IgG
The Toxoplasma IgG test checks for antibodies to Toxoplasma gondii, a common parasite. These antibodies indicate a past exposure or infection, meaning your body has developed immunity to the parasite. It helps determine if you have previously been infected with toxoplasmosis.
Toxoplasma IgM
The Toxoplasma IgM test detects antibodies that your body produces early in a Toxoplasma gondii infection. A positive result suggests a recent or active infection, as these antibodies are typically the first to appear after exposure.
TPMT GENOTYPING AND TOXICITY TEST
The TPMT Genotyping and Toxicity Test analyzes your genes to determine how your body processes certain medications, specifically thiopurines. This test helps predict your risk of severe side effects from these drugs, which are used to treat conditions like inflammatory bowel disease and some cancers.
Treponema pallidum haemagglutination (TPHA)
The TPHA test is a blood test used to detect antibodies produced by your body in response to a Treponema pallidum infection, which is the bacterium causing syphilis. It helps confirm a syphilis diagnosis, especially after a positive screening test.
