FREE ANDROGEN INDEX (FAI)
The Free Androgen Index (FAI) is a blood test that helps assess the level of biologically active testosterone in your body. It's calculated using total testosterone and Sex Hormone Binding Globulin (SHBG) levels, providing a more accurate picture of available testosterone.
Free T3 & Free T4
Measures the unbound (free) forms of thyroid hormones T3 and T4, providing a more accurate assessment of thyroid function than total T3/T4 levels.
FREE TESTOSTERONE
This test measures the active form of testosterone in your blood, which is not bound to proteins. Testosterone is a crucial hormone for men's health and also present in women, influencing various bodily functions.
Free Thyroxine (FREE T4)
This test measures the active, unbound form of a key thyroid hormone called T4 in your blood. It helps assess how well your thyroid gland is functioning and producing hormones.
Free Triiodothyronine (FREE T3)
This test measures the active, unbound form of another important thyroid hormone called T3 in your blood. It provides further insight into your thyroid gland's activity and hormone production.
Galactose (Total) Screening Qualitative
This test screens for total galactose in the blood, helping to identify potential issues with how your body processes galactose, a type of sugar found in milk and dairy products. It's a qualitative test, meaning it indicates the presence or absence of elevated levels rather than an exact amount.
Galactose 1 Phosphate
This test measures the level of Galactose-1-phosphate in red blood cells, which is a key indicator for classic galactosemia. It helps assess how well your body processes galactose, a sugar found in dairy products.
Galactose 6 Sulphate Sulphatase
This test measures the activity of the enzyme Galactose-6-sulphate sulphatase, which is crucial for breaking down certain complex sugars in the body. It helps identify specific lysosomal storage disorders.
Glutamic Acid Decarboxylase (GAD-65) Antibodies
This test detects antibodies against Glutamic Acid Decarboxylase (GAD-65), an enzyme found in the pancreas and brain. The presence of these antibodies suggests an autoimmune response targeting insulin-producing cells. It helps identify certain autoimmune conditions.
Glycosaminoglycan (GAG) Mucopolysaccharides (quantitative)
This test measures the amount of glycosaminoglycans (GAGs), also known as mucopolysaccharides, in your urine. GAGs are complex carbohydrates that are important components of connective tissues.
Growth Hormone
The Growth Hormone test measures the level of growth hormone (GH) in your blood. GH is vital for growth in children and plays a role in metabolism and body composition in adults. This test helps assess your body's hormone balance.
Growth Hormone (GH)
Measures growth hormone produced by the pituitary gland. Used to diagnose growth disorders in children (GH deficiency, gigantism) and acromegaly in adults.
