What is ZONULIN, SERUM?

This test measures zonulin levels in your blood serum. Zonulin is a protein that regulates the tightness of the junctions between cells in your gut lining. Elevated levels can indicate increased intestinal permeability, often referred to as "leaky gut."

Why is this test important?

High serum zonulin levels are associated with compromised gut barrier function, which may play a role in various conditions including autoimmune diseases, inflammatory bowel disease, and certain food sensitivities. It helps assess gut health.

How to Prepare
