What is SICKLING TEST?

The Sickling Test is a screening test that checks if your red blood cells change shape and become sickle-like when exposed to low oxygen levels. It's a quick way to identify the presence of abnormal hemoglobin associated with sickle cell disease or trait.

Why is this test important?

This test serves as an initial screening tool for sickle cell disease or sickle cell trait. A positive result indicates the need for further, more definitive tests, such as hemoglobin electrophoresis or gene mutation analysis, to confirm the diagnosis.

It depends on the test. Tests like lipid profile and fasting blood sugar require 10-12 hours of fasting. Tests like CBC, vitamin D, and thyroid do not require fasting. Each test page on our website clearly states the fasting requirements.
How soon will I receive my results?▼
Most routine tests have results within 24-48 hours. Some specialized tests take longer. Each test page shows its expected turnaround time, and we will let you know when your report is ready.
