What is Phosphorus?

Measures phosphorus levels in the blood. Works closely with calcium for bone formation and is essential for energy metabolism and cell structure.

Why is this test important?

Phosphorus levels are regulated by PTH, vitamin D, and kidneys. Elevated in kidney disease (cannot excrete phosphorus). Low in vitamin D deficiency and hyperparathyroidism.

How to Prepare
