What is Parathyroid Hormone (PTH)?

Measures PTH which regulates calcium and phosphorus levels in the blood. Important for diagnosing parathyroid disorders, osteoporosis evaluation, and calcium metabolism.

Why is this test important?

Elevated PTH with high calcium suggests primary hyperparathyroidism. Elevated PTH with low calcium indicates secondary hyperparathyroidism (often from vitamin D deficiency, very common in UAE).

How to Prepare

No special preparation. Should be interpreted alongside calcium and vitamin D levels.
