What is Hepatitis B Surface Antigen (HBsAg)?

Screens for active hepatitis B infection by detecting the surface antigen of the virus. A required test for UAE visa medical examinations and pre-employment screening.

Why is this test important?

A positive HBsAg means the person is currently infected with hepatitis B (acute or chronic). Part of mandatory UAE visa screening. Chronic carriers need regular liver function monitoring.
