What is Haemoglobin-Free Plasma?

This test measures the level of free hemoglobin in your blood plasma, which is the liquid part of your blood. Normally, hemoglobin should be contained within red blood cells, so its presence in plasma can indicate red blood cell breakdown.

Why is this test important?

Elevated levels of free hemoglobin in plasma can indicate hemolysis, a condition where red blood cells are prematurely destroyed. It helps diagnose hemolytic anemias, monitor blood transfusions, or assess certain medical conditions.

It depends on the test. Tests like lipid profile and fasting blood sugar require 10-12 hours of fasting. Tests like CBC, vitamin D, and thyroid do not require fasting. Each test page on our website clearly states the fasting requirements.

Most routine tests have results within 24-48 hours. Some specialized tests take longer. Each test page shows its expected turnaround time, and we will let you know when your report is ready.
