What is Factor IX Activity, Plasma?

This test measures the amount of active Factor IX in your blood plasma. Factor IX is one of several proteins (clotting factors) that work together to stop bleeding by forming a blood clot.

Why is this test important?

Low levels of Factor IX activity can indicate Hemophilia B, a genetic bleeding disorder. This test helps diagnose Hemophilia B, assess its severity, and monitor treatment effectiveness for individuals with the condition.
