What is DIFFERENTIAL COUNT?

A Differential Count is part of a complete blood count (CBC) that measures the percentage of each type of white blood cell (neutrophils, lymphocytes, monocytes, eosinophils, and basophils) in your blood. Each type plays a unique role in your immune system.

Why is this test important?

This test is vital for diagnosing and monitoring various conditions, including infections, inflammation, allergies, and certain blood disorders like leukemia. Abnormal percentages of specific white blood cells can indicate an underlying health issue.

It depends on the test. Tests like lipid profile and fasting blood sugar require 10-12 hours of fasting. Tests like CBC, vitamin D, and thyroid do not require fasting. Each test page on our website clearly states the fasting requirements.
