What is Aboslute Basophil Count (ABC)?

The Absolute Basophil Count (ABC) measures the exact number of basophils, a type of white blood cell, in a specific volume of your blood. Basophils play a role in allergic reactions and immune responses.

Why is this test important?

Abnormal basophil counts can indicate various conditions. Elevated levels (basophilia) might be seen in allergic reactions, inflammatory conditions, or certain blood disorders. Decreased levels (basopenia) can occur due to acute infections or severe allergic reactions.
