What is SCRUB TYPHUS (TSUTSUGAMUSHI) ANTIBODY IgG QUALITATIVE?

This blood test detects IgG antibodies to Scrub Typhus, an infection caused by bacteria transmitted by chiggers. A positive IgG result typically indicates a past infection or exposure to the bacteria.

Why is this test important?

The presence of IgG antibodies helps confirm a previous Scrub Typhus infection, which can be important for understanding a patient's immune history. It is not used for diagnosing active infection.
