What is Non-Invasive Prenatal Testing (NIPT) Basic?

NIPT Basic is a simple blood test for pregnant women that screens for the most common chromosomal abnormalities in the developing baby. It analyzes fetal DNA fragments in the mother's bloodstream to provide early and reliable insights into key genetic conditions.

Why is this test important?

This test primarily screens for the three most common trisomies: Down syndrome (Trisomy 21), Edwards syndrome (Trisomy 18), and Patau syndrome (Trisomy 13). It depends on the test. Tests like lipid profile and fasting blood sugar require 10-12 hours of fasting. Tests like CBC, vitamin D, and thyroid do not require fasting. Each test page on our website clearly states the fasting requirements.
