What is Microalbumin (Urine)?
Detects tiny amounts of albumin protein leaking into urine. The earliest sign of kidney damage, especially in people with diabetes or hypertension.
Why is this test important?
Microalbuminuria (30-300 mg/day) indicates early kidney disease that is still reversible with treatment. All diabetic patients should be screened annually. Also a marker for cardiovascular risk.
How to Prepare
Collect first morning urine sample or random urine. Avoid strenuous exercise 24 hours before.
