What is Jak 2 Exon 12-15 Mutation Analysis?

This blood test looks for specific genetic changes (mutations) in exons 12-15 of the JAK2 gene. These mutations are associated with certain blood disorders.

Why is this test important?

Detecting these mutations is crucial for diagnosing myeloproliferative neoplasms, such as polycythemia vera, essential thrombocythemia, and primary myelofibrosis, especially when the common V617F mutation is absent.
