What is Immunohistochemistry -CD7?

This test identifies CD7, a protein found on early T-cells and natural killer (NK) cells. It helps pathologists determine the lineage of certain immune cells in a tissue sample, especially in cases of suspected lymphoma or leukemia.

Why is this test important?

CD7 is a vital marker for diagnosing T-cell lymphomas and leukemias, particularly early T-cell precursor lymphoblastic leukemia/lymphoma. Its presence or absence provides critical information for accurate classification and treatment.
