What is HIV PCR Qualitative?

This test directly detects the genetic material (DNA or RNA) of the HIV virus in your blood. It determines if the virus is present or absent, providing a qualitative "yes" or "no" answer regarding infection.

Why is this test important?

HIV PCR Qualitative is particularly useful for early detection of HIV infection, especially in newborns of HIV-positive mothers, or when antibody tests might not yet be positive. It's also used to confirm ambiguous antibody test results.

It depends on the test. Tests like lipid profile and fasting blood sugar require 10-12 hours of fasting. Tests like CBC, vitamin D, and thyroid do not require fasting. Each test page on our website clearly states the fasting requirements.
