What is H. Pylori Antibody (IgG)?
Detects IgG antibodies against Helicobacter pylori, a bacteria that infects the stomach lining and is the main cause of gastritis, peptic ulcers, and a risk factor for stomach cancer.
Why is this test important?
H. pylori infects about 50% of the global population. Eradication reduces ulcer recurrence and stomach cancer risk. Blood antibody test cannot distinguish current from past infection.
