What is FECAL FAT QUALITATIVE?

The Fecal Fat Qualitative test examines a stool sample to check for the presence of undigested fat. This test helps determine if your body is properly absorbing fats from your diet.

Why is this test important?

Elevated levels of fat in stool can indicate malabsorption disorders, such as pancreatic insufficiency, celiac disease, or Crohn's disease. It helps doctors understand digestive issues and guide treatment.

How to Prepare

You may be asked to maintain a normal fat intake in your diet for 2-3 days before collecting the stool sample. Follow specific instructions provided.
