What is Epstein-Barr Virus Nuclear Antigen IgM (EBV NA IgM)?

This test detects IgM antibodies against the Epstein-Barr Virus Nuclear Antigen (EBV NA). It helps determine if your body has recently mounted an immune response to the EBV nuclear proteins, which can be useful in understanding the stage of an EBV infection.

While EBV NA IgG typically indicates past infection, the presence of EBV NA IgM can sometimes suggest a recent or reactivated infection, especially when interpreted alongside other EBV antibody tests.
