What is Dysmorphic RBCs, Urinalysis?

This urinalysis specifically looks for dysmorphic (abnormally shaped) red blood cells (RBCs) in your urine. The presence of these specific types of RBCs can indicate where bleeding might be originating in your urinary tract.

Why is this test important?

It's a key test for investigating microscopic hematuria (blood in urine not visible to the naked eye) and helps differentiate between kidney-related bleeding and bleeding from other parts of the urinary tract. This distinction is vital for accurate diagnosis and treatment.

How to Prepare

No special preparation required. You may be asked to provide a clean-catch midstream urine sample.
