What is Dengue NS1 Antigen?

This test detects the NS1 antigen, a protein produced by the dengue virus, which appears in the blood early in the infection. It is a key marker for diagnosing acute dengue fever in its initial stages.

Why is this test important?

The NS1 antigen can be detected as early as day 1 of fever and up to day 9, making it highly valuable for early diagnosis before antibodies develop. Early detection allows for prompt medical management and helps prevent severe complications of dengue.
