What is 24 Hrs Urine, Albumin/Creatinine Ratio?

This test measures the ratio of albumin to creatinine in your urine collected over 24 hours. It's a highly sensitive indicator of early kidney damage, especially in conditions like diabetes and high blood pressure.

Why is this test important?

An elevated albumin/creatinine ratio (microalbuminuria) suggests that your kidneys are leaking small amounts of albumin, indicating early kidney disease. Regular monitoring helps prevent progression to more severe kidney problems.

How to Prepare

You will need to collect all your urine for a full 24-hour period in a special container provided. Follow specific instructions on how to start and end the collection.
