What is THYROID PROFILE (FREE)?

This test measures the levels of 'free' thyroid hormones (Free T3 and Free T4) in your blood. These are the active forms of the hormones that are not bound to proteins and are readily available for your body's cells to use.

Why is this test important?

Measuring free thyroid hormones provides a more accurate assessment of thyroid function than total levels, as it reflects the hormones actively affecting your metabolism.
