What is EOSINIPHIL CATIONIC PROTEIN (ECP), SERUM?

This test measures the level of Eosinophil Cationic Protein (ECP) in your blood serum. ECP is released by eosinophils, a type of white blood cell, when they are activated, often in response to allergic reactions or inflammation. It helps assess the activity of these cells in your body.

Why is this test important?
